PRECIOUS METAL

GOLD

Gold is resistant to rust, tarnish and corrosion but its malleability causes it too soft for most jewelry. Therefore, gold is usually alloyed with mixture of other metals such as silver or cooper for a more resilient alloy.

GOLD PURITY

There are different purities of gold, we use “karat” as the term to describe the percentage of pure gold in the alloy.

Gold can also come with different color to give more possibilities in jewelry designs.

PLATINUM

Platinum is rarer than gold, it is considered to be the finest of precious metals being used in jewelry. In comparison with other precious metals, platinum is more durable and scratch-resistant.

SILVER

Similar to gold, pure silver is too soft for use in jewelry which also required to alloy with other metals. However, purity of silver does not use the term “karat” to rate, instead the terms “fine” and “sterling” are being used.
